Greenhouse Analogies
(1) the greenhouse, where glass delays the rate at which heat is lost to the environment;
(2) blankets, where the blankets slow the rate at which heat is lost to the environment on a cold night;
(3) the bathtub, where a running faucet fills a bathtub with water which leaves the bathtub through a drain; and,
(4) a pinball machine, where bumpers slow the rate at which pinballs leave the machine.
